The Advisory Committee of Service Coordination is looking for new members. The
committee has been in existence for three years and meets on the second Wednesday of each month. The Committee’s mandate includes providing advice and recommendations to the Board of Directors, responding to requests for input from management and engaging in educational activities with management and staff. The Terms of Reference of the committee are available on the SCS website. Persons interested in applying to become members of the Committee should complete the application form available on the SCS website.

The Advisory Committee of Service Coordination was created by the Board of Directors in early 2007. The Terms of Reference adopted by the Board provide for up to twelve community members and up to three members who are also members of the Board. The mandate of the Committee is contained in its Terms of Reference which are available on the Committee webpage and covers the identification of matters to study, advice and recommendations to the Board and management as well as outreach to the community. The Committee meets on the second Wednesday of the month.

The committee plays an important role in assisting and supporting the Board and management in effectively delivering supports and services to the clients of SCS. As individuals with family members with a developmental disability, the members of the committee are able to draw on their experience and their knowledge of the community and the sector to provide informed comment and advice to both the Board and management.
